“THEIR ROLLING PIN ROLLS OUT A BUSINESS PLAN”

Chaakri innovatively tapped the one inherent skill of the Indian woman – Rolling round Rotis – and designed a holistic business model that provides stable employment and income to less-privileged women in a safe and secure work environment.

The product “Chaakri Roasted Crispies” is a modern, unique rendition of the traditional favourite snack – “Khakhra”.

With no preservatives, no maida – 100% wholegrain, no white sugar, no artificial flavors/colors and no trans-fats, Chaakri Roasted Crispies are non-fried, high fibre, all natural, ready to eat, vacuum packed and recommended by nutritionists. Training and skill development is provided to women on all aspects like personal hygiene, dough making, rolling, roasting, weighing, vacuum packing, compiling orders received, dispatch as per orders, inventory management and billing.

Professionals Shruti Sheth and Bosky Bavisi, who brought with them tons of experience from their previous diverse careers, have commendably devoted their lives to this cause.

A post graduate from NMIMS University with a degree in Human Resource Management, Shruti opted to channelize her skills and education to bring about a change in the lives of the less-privileged. Having worked with the Business Research arm of JP Morgan Chase India for almost 9 years, she quit her job as Associate Vice President at the peak of her career. Shruti brings with her a wealth of management experience and professional expertise. “Empowering lives” is her aspiration; admirably, she has made a humble beginning by working with the less-privileged women at Rajnagar, Parli.

Bosky, on the other hand, who has a Masters in Information Technology, (Monash University – Melbourne) worked for five years with a CPA firm in New Jersey before moving to India to work with Sa-Ni-Sa. She joined Chaakri in 2010. Her experience raising funds for SaNiSa in the United States through social work events has been instrumental in her role at Chaakri. Under the leadership of these professionals and with the support of the entire Chaakri team, Chaakri’s Roasted Crispies has received such an overwhelming response, production numbers fall short of meeting demands.
